Cuffing Season: What Is It?

The Psychology Today website defines cuffing season as a specific time of year when people become extremely motivated to get “coupled up.” The website also points out that it generally occurs between October to March, which are the cooler months of the year. As the temperature drops, the number of couples rises.

The Coffee Meets Bagel website/app surveyed 2,026 of its members to find out what they thought about “Cuffing Season.” 63% of the 2,026 members wanted someone to be cozy with. The article did make a good point about looking for a partner when you feel ready, not because you feel pressured by friends, family, or the changing seasons. More people consider being in a relationship during this time, but if you are trying to rush your selection just because you feel cold and alone, you will be doing yourself a disservice. If you pick the wrong partner and rush your decisions, you are setting yourself up to get hurt and feel more alone in the end.
