Do You Want Someone That You “Can’t Have”?!

3 min readNov 2, 2020

Even though I am engaged, I seem to be constantly approached by men. I let them know that I am in a relationship and that I am engaged. They still proceed to try to get to know me and any personal details about me that I may offer up.

People love confidence and stability, but sometimes can’t seem to find it in their own lives. When they approach “unavailable” people, they may try to get closer because of the intense desire to be with someone who has been proven to be desired and wanted already by somebody. Sometimes competition drives men to want to “take” a woman from another man, but when a relationship is strong and the other man is let down, there is an overwhelming and excruciating feeling of being defeated.

You may have the mindset that you’re better than somebody else and not understand why someone chose to be with a specific person. It may baffle you until the end of time. If the person that you are pursuing would just understand your worth and what you have to offer, you would easily be able to just be with that person, right? That person would just fall in love with how great you are. Unfortunately, the world doesn’t work this way.
