How Money Impacts Divorce

I was talking with a woman who was waxing me in her room a week or two ago. She opened up about her situation and said that she had a big wedding on a yacht with her first marriage. She is currently divorced and has a boyfriend that she’s seeing. The Hustle website published an article called, “Cheap Weddings Lead to Fewer Divorces” on January 18, 2016. There were two Emory University researchers who studied 3,000 married couples in the U.S. and it showed that there’s a correlation between money and divorce. It mentions a study that spending between $2,000 and $4,000 on an engagement ring significantly increases the risk of divorce. It talks about the wedding ceremony having a massive impact on whether you will get divorced or not. One of the biggest factors is how many people attend the wedding and how much was spent on the ceremony.

Plenty of women fantasize about their wedding day, but having a big elaborate, expensive wedding does not secure the happiness of the marriage long term. There may be a want to be in the spotlight or get the attention of others in a “I made it!” sort of way and having a marriage presents an opportunity for this to happen. If there are areas in your life in which you feel a lack of fulfillment, you should work on those areas so you gain long term satisfaction.
