How Our Society Has Impacted Our Relationships

Our relationships are important in our lives. Relationships are made up of individuals. I was born and raised in America. There is a lot of freedom of choice, but you have to be strong and committed to your goals if you want to reach them. There is temptation and easy access to lots of great… and not so great things.

The American society enjoys instant gratification. Instant gratification can come at a cost. It can cost you your relationship, your health, your finances, etc. In my state of Michigan, I drive by several fast food restaurants each day and talk to people that are not as health conscious as myself. My own environment does not promote a healthy vegan friendly lifestyle and if I was not committed to my own lifestyle, I could easily be led astray.

When our environment doesn’t support us and our goals, we can feel lost, unsupported and make mistakes. In terms of relationships, when we have temptations around us that can interfere with our personal goals or our relationship goals, we can get down on ourselves or our relationships can suffer.

The American society that I live in has several ideas of what you should or shouldn’t do. Some ideas directly conflict each other. Mukbangs have become popular where people eat very large amounts of unhealthy food. Americans seem to love too much of a good thing. The…
