How To Move On In Love

There were times when I became involved with certain partners where I felt that myself and the other person were growing apart. There were points when I had to disengage and leave relationships because the relationships turned bad. It is hard to move on when you do not have closure. It can also be hard to repair, heal and rebuild your own life again.

People want love to last, but as each moment in time passes us, we are never the same again. This means that love can never truly be suspended in time because we can change and the people around us can change, too. We want the good times to last and to savor the best times in our love lives, but time seems to pass us by too quickly. When we realize the people or the times that we have lost, we may become depressed about it and sullen over the future because we don’t know if we can get back what we’ve lost.

When we keep revisiting the good times in love in our minds, we revisit the past. Buddha is known for the following quote: “Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.” You cannot find anything new in the past and if you continue to focus your energy there, you will not see any new opportunities in love and miss them entirely.

It is wise to reinvest all of the energy that you have left after a break up back into yourself to help rebuild from a break up. When we do this, we are telling the Universe that we are here in the present moment and that we show acceptance of ourselves. When we’ve dealt with the ending of a…
