How Would I Find “The One” And Have It Work Out In The Long Term?

I did briefly mention in my first blog post that I was uncertain that I would find “the one” and felt like there was no guarantee that a relationship would work out in the long term when I posted my Love Manifestation story, but I wanted to tell you more of that story here…

I felt awkward in the online world of dating. I had no idea where to start. I was unsure of myself and what I was doing. I asked myself if I even deserved love. I hadn’t experienced enough love to know if it was real or not. I desired to have the relationship of a lifetime. I didn’t know how to describe myself in a dating profile. I spent hours trying to get everything perfect… the spelling, the photos, my likes, my dislikes. I kept judging myself and feeling like I was lying to myself… who is going to believe this dating profile? It was me, but it wasn’t who the people in my life saw me as or I would have already been in love and have found love sooner. Doubt and dread set in. I felt like I was walking on a tightrope and waiting for someone to catch me from below.

I started online dating because I had no other avenues… I had to work and I had to go to school. There were no other options. After my mom passed away, I had to look after myself. I had limited time so I could check everything online in between stocking shelves or on breaks at school… it was convenient.

I decided to continue searching through dating profiles on different websites and dating apps… mostly answering back to the guys who were messaging me first. There were no rules or manual that you got for how to navigate yourself through online dating. It was just a sea of online profiles… some were great, some were bad, some were… gross. It was trial and error. When I hit a great dating profile, I was still very skeptical of exactly who the person was and if he was a catfish or had some secret to hide.

In the end, I learned that if I wanted something that I needed to put effort into it. I learned to manage my time between the things that were most important to me… finding love, making money and changing my career path. If I persisted and continued to put effort into getting these three things, I would win in the end.
